Bugo feat. Ermal Meta - Mi Manca

I wanted to talk to you.

I don't even know what to tell you...

About the doors made of t-shirts?

Or about Sergio who doesn't get married?

I wanted to play with you

«Who spits further»,

To break glass in factories,

To make anyone yell at us.

Ah, it's so boring to be grown-ups,

To go to birthday parties and talk

About money, about someone's children.

Ah...

It's late and I have to go now.

And I miss waiting for summer,

Buying colourful candies,

And I miss the road, we two on bicycles.

I miss myself, I miss you.

And I miss a beautiful song,

Paying something with the figurines,

And I miss a ballpoint pen in my teeth.

I miss myself, I miss you.

Do you miss me and do you miss yourself?

I wanted to talk to you.

You remember it, your first balloon,

It stopped under the cars,

Though it could fly with the wind.

You don't know how much I want to play

And, also, to cry and to blow my nose,

Then to dive into the highest grass,

To go home, covered in grass.

Ah, instead, we're already grown-ups,

With duty to give answers, to sign and not to be made of stone.

Ah, I still love you.

And I miss waiting for summer,

Buying colourful candies,

I miss the road, we two on bicycles.

I miss myself, I miss you.

And I miss a beautiful song,

Paying something with the figurines,

And I miss a ballpoint pen in my teeth.

I miss myself, I miss you.

Do you miss me and do you miss yourself?

I wanted to talk to you.

I don't even know what to tell you...

And I miss waiting for summer,

Buying colourful candies,

And I miss the road, we two on bicycles.

I miss myself, I miss you.

And I miss a beautiful song,

Stealing 500 lire from my mother,50

And I miss a ballpoint pen in my teeth.

I miss myself, I miss you.

Do you miss me and do you miss yourself?

I don't remember it anymore...

I know I gotta put in the hours,

Make the money while the sunlight shines

But anything I gotta get done,

It can get done some other time

Time is love, gotta run,

Love to hang longer,

But I got someone who waits,

Waits for me and right now

She's where I need to be,

Time is love, gotta run

I only get so many minutes,

Don't wanna spend 'em all on the clock

In the time that we spent talkin',

How many kisses have I lost?

Time is love, gotta run,

Love to hang longer,

But I got someone who waits,

Waits for me and right now

She's where I need to be,

Time is love, gotta run.

Gotta fly, fly

Before one more moment goes by

Time is love, gotta run,

Love to hang longer,

But I got someone who waits,

Waits for me and right now

She's where I need to be

Time is love, gotta run,

Love to hang longer,

But I got someone who waits,

Waits for me and right now

She's where I need to be,

Time is love, gotta run.

Time is love, gotta run

… You need someone by your side

That can handle a joke and hang with 'em guys

Always happy, glad to be

Sitting pretty with you in your shotgun seat

… You get lonely when it's late

Need a friend at the end of the day

… Maybe you should get a dog

Have someone to sleep with

Waits for you at home

After you've been drinking

Chases you around

Plays your little games

Lets you be a fool

Loves you anyway

… If you need someone to run right back to ya

Every time you call

Oh, you should get a dog. hmm-mm

… You can sleep in all day

Leave the house all a mess, she'll never complain

She'll just smile when you're late

And she don't give a damn how much money you make

… Disappear, turn off your phone

Call her a bitch, but she'll still want a bone

Nice to meet you, where you been?

I could show you incredible things

Magic, madness, heaven sin

Saw you there and I thought

Oh my God, look at that face

You look like my next mistake

Love’s a game, want to play?

New money, suit and tie

I can read you like a magazine

Ain't it funny, rumors fly

And I know you heard about me

So hey, let's be friends

I'm dying to see how this one ends

Grab your passport and my hand

I can make the bad guys good for a weekend

So it's gonna be forever

Or it's gonna go down in flames

You can tell me when it's over

If the high was worth the pain

Got a long list of ex-lovers

They'll tell you I'm insane

'Cause you know I love the players

And you love the game

'Cause we're young and we're reckless

We'll take this way too far

It'll leave you breathless

Or with a nasty scar

Got a long list of ex-lovers

They'll tell you I'm insane

But I've got a blank space baby

And I'll write your name

Cherry lips, crystal skies

I could show you incredible things

Stolen kisses, pretty lies

You're the king baby I'm your Queen

Find out what you want

Be that girl for a month

Wait the worst is yet to come, oh no

Screaming, crying, perfect storm

I can make all the tables turn

Rose gardens filled with thorns

Keep you second guessing like

"Oh my God, who is she?"

I get drunk on jealousy

But you'll come back each time you leave

'Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream

So it's gonna be forever

Or it's gonna go down in flames

You can tell me when it's over

If the high was worth the pain

Got a long list of ex-lovers

They'll tell you I'm insane

Or with a nasty scar

Got a long list of ex-lovers

They'll tell you I'm insane (Insane)

But I've got a blank space baby

And I'll write your name

Boys only want love if it's torture

Don't say I didn't say I didn't warn ya

Boys only want love if it's torture

Don't say I didn't say I didn't warn ya

Your Song_Elton John

It's a little bit funny, this feelin' inside

I'm not one of those who can easily hide

I don't have much money, but boy, if I did

I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no

Or a man who makes potions in a travelin' show

Oh, I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do

My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song

It may be quite simple but now that it's done

I hope you don't mind

I hope you don't mind

That I put down in words

How wonderful life is while you're in the world

Songwriters: Elton John / Bernard J. P. Taupin

Uhh-uhh-uhh, ohh-yeah, hmmm

A hundred and five is the number that comes to my head

When I think of all the years I wanna be with you

Wake up every morning with you in my bed

That′s precisely what I plan to do

And you know one of these days, when I get my money right

Buy you everything and show you all the finer things in life

Will forever be enough, so there ain't no need to rush

But one day, I won′t be able to ask you loud enough

I'll say, will you marry me?

I swear that I will mean it

I'll say, will you marry me?

Singing, uh-oh-oh, uh-oh-oh

Uh-oh-oh, oh-yeah

How many girls in the world can make me feel like this?

Baby, I don′t ever plan to find out

The more I look, the more I find the reasons why

You′re the love of my life

You know one of these days, when I get my money right

Buy you everything and show you all the finer things in life

Will forever be enough, so there ain't no need to rush

But one day, I won′t be able to ask you loud enough

I'll say, will you marry me?

I swear that I will mean it

I′ll say, will you marry me?

And if I lost everything

In my heart, it means nothing

'Cause I have you, girl, I have you

To get right down on bended knee

Nothing else would ever be better, better

The day when I

I′ll say, will you marry me?

I swear that I will mean it

I'll say, will you marry me?

I'll say, will you marry me? (the day I get on my knees)

I swear that I will mean it

I′ll say, will you marry me? (and what you do me, baby?)

Got me singing (uh-ooh, uh-ooh)

Got me singing (uh-ooh, uh-ooh)

Would you marry me, baby? (uh-ooh, uh-ooh, uh-ooh)

A hundred and five is the number that comes to my head

When I think of all the years I wanna be with you

Wake up every morning with you in my bed

That′s precisely what I plan to do

Just finished this artwork few days back. Im just enjoying splashing colors and creating new ideas and I really want to go bit further exploring the art culture and market.

I’m so happy that I have found a person who is willing to help me to create my website through one of his friend. He too is a genius. So I told him, 'let me start my new year fresh and raring to go exploring my art'. He said “Yes Sir..!! He has my lovely two paintings and I never charged him. Hehe.

Sometimes money can’t buy everything. But it can surely show me a way.

It gives me a great pleasure to create what I want to create, but not do anything just to make sure of my clients requirements. I want to create something different which can satisfy me and close to my heart. This can satisfy my inner thinking and feelings.

A fire within still burns in me. I will never give up and I don’t care how things will improve. But I am enjoying my life being an artist.

Lot of positive things are happening and will happen in future too. . !! Not able to post my favorite song. That sucks. youtube song plays but i cant share the song. what the hell.. Its crazy and annoying. I dont give a damn.

♫ Imagine Dragons - Working Man ♫

Everything is serious and everything is fatal

That's what they tell you

And that's how they make you know, know

I'm tired of the books and tired of the tables

Everything is made with the same old labels

No, no oh oh

So tell me, tell me, tell me

What am I to do

I think that this life is darker than the view

So help me, help me, help me

Be a little more like you

When everything is falling

I'm gonna do the things you do

Shake it, shake it

And we're moving again

Been a long time coming for the working man

Shake it, shake it

And we're moving again

When the money is high, we can start to spend

Sometimes you have to recognize who the MF'n queen is.

(Pose will be avaibile on MP SOON!)

Tune

Now you act like you got some class

But do you know how to back that ass up

Watch me drop the hurt

Make money money, make money money work

"Look what I did, I made history

They don't know what to do with me

Ain't lookin' back, keepin' it movin'

I know exactly how to do this

Keep smilin', make 'em wild out

Stay loud, don't dumb it down

Hold my crown up to the sky

Hold your crown up to the sky

Hey, time for us to go and get the money, y'all

Floodgates open, gonna take it all

I am a diamond 'cause of pressure

The bigger the trial, bigger the blessin'

No we're not just survivin'...

yeah we're thrivin' over here." - Mary J. Blige x Nas ♫

Gi runs her fingers through her crown as she poses for Alicy ❤️

Going back to the corner where I first saw you

Gonna camp in my sleeping bag, I'm not gonna move

Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand

Saying, "If you see this girl, can you tell her where I am?"

Some try to hand me money, they don't understand

I'm not broke, I'm just a broken hearted man

I know it makes no sense but what else can I do

How can I move on when I'm still in love with you

'Cause if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me

And your heart starts to wonder where on this Earth I could be

Thinkin' maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet

And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street

So I'm not moving, I'm not moving

It doesn't matter if you're white, black, brown, or even yellow, purple, green, pink, blue. It doesn't matter where you live, how you speak, what you do for a living, how you make your money, if you're religious or political, if you're gay or straight, if you're right or wrong, if you're young or old, if you're rich or poor or what you're beliefs are.

All life is precious.

I wanna go ahead until I just run out of gas

We gotta beat the road with four-wheel thunder

There's a Cadillac dealer in Kansas City counting money

And the highway patrol ain't going nowhere

Don't say no, don't say no, don't make me grieve

Don't say no, don't say no, you gotta feel the breeze

On a clear night yeah, moonlight yeah

You and me and the car

Under a thousands stars

Clear night yeah, moonlight yeah

That's all the magic we need

So, don't you go turnin' my dream into a nightmare

Come on honey, let's ride right out of here

Imagine you and I, leavin' it all behind

Find another world, beyond the turnpike

There'll be lots of people uptight

Maybe some FBI, and your daddy screamin' bloody murder

Don't say no, don't say no, don't make me grieve

Don't say no, don't say no, you gotta feel the breeze

On a clear night yeah, moonlight yeah

You and me and the car

Under a thousands stars

Clear night yeah, moonlight yeah

That's all the magic we need

So, don't you go turnin' my dream into a nightmare

Come on honey, let's ride right out of here

Picture the two of us, we're so happy, so much in love

You know how the story goes

At the end of the rainbow

There's a bag of gold

Spending all my nights, all my money going out on the town.

Doing anything just to get you off of my mind.

But when the morning comes,

I'm right back where I started again.

Trying to forget you is just a waste of time.

* chorus

Baby come back.

Any kind of fool could see

There was something in everything about you.

Baby come back. (Yeah.)

You can blame it all on me.

I was wrong and I just can't live without you.

All day long, wearing a mask of false bravado

Trying to keep up the smile that hides a tear.

But as the sun goes down,

I get that empty feeling again.

How I wish to God that you were here.

* chorus

Now that I put it all together,

Give me the chance to make you see.

Have you used up all the love in your heart?

Nothing left for me.

Ain't there nothing left for me?

Nice to meet you, where you been?

I could show you incredible things

Magic, madness, heaven sin

Saw you there and I thought

Oh my God, look at that face

You look like my next mistake

or Skål, as we say in Norway

When you are focusing on the small things in life

They do appear

That is not the big things in life though, will someone say

What are actually the big things in our lives?

We have our family life, is it 2.3 children we want - and perhaps a dog.

And a house.

We want to have a career, achieving goals, getting rich of course, we always want to get loaded with money, we want our name to be spelled out in Capital letters, we want to be "someone", someone that saves our environment, our planet, makes a difference

But what about the little things

The tiny ones

The ones we don't cherish

We don't even notice them

Taking them for granted

The day is full of them

Maybe they are the most important ones

It's not the money that makes us light hearted, of course it helps, but it doesn't really help

If you think about it

What about the small tokens

A picnic already made for where

You don't need to do anything

It's all prepared for

How awesome isn't that

Thank you Mark

Being in my life like you are

A freshly made coffee

Thank you Mark

A kiss from your loved one

Thank you again, Mark

A smile from a stranger

A helping hand

Being aware of what you are doing with your life

What do you surround yourselves with

Who

What and how much you are eating and drinking

The amount of stress you have

And we do influence the ones around us

Yes

We all have impact on everybody's lives

It's a tsunami

Of whatever we want to leave

Positive

Negative

Lana del Rey - High by The Beach

High-igh-igh-igh

High-igh-igh-igh

Boy, look at you looking at me

I know you know how I feel

Lovin' you is hard, bein' here's harder

You take the wheel

I don't wanna do this anymore

It's so surreal, I can't survive

If this is all that's real

All I wanna do is get high by the beach

Get high by the beach, get high

All I wanna do is get by by the beach

Get by, baby, baby, bye bye

The truth is I never bought into your bullshit

When you would pay tribute to me

'Cause I know that

All I wanted to do was get high by the beach

Get high baby, baby, bye bye

Boy, look at you lookin' at me

I know you don't understand

You could be a bad motherfucker

But that don't make you a man

Now you're just another one of my problems

Because you got out of hand

We won't survive

We're sinkin' into the sand

All I wanna do is get high by the beach

Get high by the beach, get high

All I wanna do is get by by the beach

Get by, baby, baby, bye bye

The truth is I never bought into your bullshit

When you would pay tribute to me

'Cause I know that

All I wanted to do was get high by the beach

Get high baby, baby, bye bye

Lights, camera, acción

I'll do it on my own

Don't need your money, money

To get me what I want

Lights, camera, acción

I'll do it on my own

Don't need your money, money

To get me what I want

All I wanna do is get high by the beach

Get high by the beach, get high

All I wanna do is get by by the beach

Get by, baby, baby, bye bye

The truth is I never bought into your bullshit

When you would pay tribute to me

'Cause I know that

All I wanted to do was get high by the beach

Get high baby, baby, bye bye

High-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh

High-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh

High-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh

High-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh-igh

Anyone can start again

Not through love but through revenge

Through the fire, we're born again

Peace by vengeance brings the end

(High-igh-igh-igh)

An unfortunate name for the title of a much photographed image but if you can be bothered to read on then hopefully all will become clear.

I came here to photograph this tree as many others do. If it's your first visit, as it was mine then I don't think you are prepared for this location offering much more than just this one image. If you have the conditions I guarantee you will have a months worth of keepers. It's a horseshoe shaped bay, with a small island in the distance, reeds on the shoreline, treelined on both sides and an oasis of tranquility.

I've followed a springer spaniel on Facebook for over 5 years, called Max. The FB page is called 'Max Out in the Lake District' and across platforms his following extended to 60k+. Over the last year you can see he had been going downhill. He was 14 after all and for a pedigree springer that's quite an old age. He had a couple of seizures about 3 weeks ago and it was obvious his time was coming to an end.

Kerry, his owner had done live feeds every morning during lockdown of his morning walks/permitted exercise. Just seeing them out in the lakes, which I was missing like crazy was the highlight of my day.

These continued when we were allowed out to play, with many meetups to raise money for Keswick Mountain Rescue and the PDSA. Throw in how Max became Kerry's, how he was the reason that Kerry overcame depression after an awful accident, and some marvellous photography by his wife and it was a potent mix for any dog lover. Over the years Max was joined by Paddy and Harry, his two adoring younger brothers. Both springers.

For any dog lover you couldn't fail to be touched by the three of them and by the story of Max. It led to a number one best selling book called 'Max the Miracle Dog,' which I can highly recommend. It will have you in tears, but in a good way.

Max was put to sleep in his beloved Manesty Woods at the southern end of Derwentwater about a week ago. It was heartbreaking reading about it but I have nothing but admiration for how Kerry has handled it. There is a lot to be said for having such stoicism in the face of adversity, and Kerry has shown it in spades.

After I left here and with it still early, I visited the statue dedicated to Max and his brothers that is a permanent fixture in Hope Park to pay my respects. The work and amount of money they have raised for the PDSA is nothing short of remarkable and there is a donation box next to the plinth and statue.

Anyway, the image. You either need to be 7'ft 4"or make the short climb and have a right leg like Chris Hoy.

It's only about 4ft up some rocks that stick out with an overhanging tree that's in the shot unless you lean outwards. All sounds relatively simple so far until you realise a tripod is out of the question and you have to adjust your settings accordingly to hand hold.

There is one rock that sticks out slightly, but it is as slippy as anything and to make matters worse to ensure the branch remains above the top of Blencathra and to get Otterbield Island in the right place aesthetically you are dangling out on this slippy rock, hand holding and also slightly crouching with all your weight on your right thigh, hence the Chris Hoy reference! It's not easy and nigh on impossible to focus stack, unless of course you happen to play for the LA Lakers.!

I was listening to Black whilst driving here. It's a song about loss and dark clouds, fear and the hopelessness of the unknown, and whilst feeling fitting at the loss of a dog that has touched thousands of people worldwide, my mind was in photoshop selection mode and decided that if I clicked the 'Invert' box then instead of sadness, I'd have happiness:) So in my mind I clicked the invert box and after the short walk down to Otterbield Bay, that is exactly what I felt.

My internal monologue

Is saturated analogue

It's scratched and drifting,

I've become attached to the idea,

It's all a shifting dream bittersweet philosophy

I've got no idea how I even got here

I'm resentful,

I'm having an existential time crisis

What bliss!

Daylight savings won't fix this mess.

Under-worked and over-sexed

I must express my disinterest.

The rats are back inside my head

What would Freud've said?

Put me on a pedestal and I'll only disappoint

You tell me I'm exceptional and I promise to exploit you

Give me all your money and I'll make some origami, honey

I think you're a joke but I don't find you very funny

Sleep beneath the stars

Honey, I have all I need

Right in front of me

Waiting in the car

Burning all my money on the dashboard

For the record

Don't need it

Where I'm going and I can't admit

No way of knowing, is it cold outside?

No way of knowing, will you be my guide?

I'm gonna need you tonight

Tell me everything is alright

You wouldn't do it, but I just might

So, show me how

You made the vow

I'm gonna need you tonight

Walking miles in the moonlight

Got myself into the wrong fight

So, show me where

To make amends...

We’re like the modern version of Bonnie & Clyde

You pick me up when I feel down

No matter how deep in the night

I got your back when we go out

You know I’m always on your side

You make this world a little wild

And we shout through crowded streets

Turn up the noise and make it loud

And let the world fall at our feet

We love it on the other side

Where the dreams are real, do what we like

Let them point and laugh, at who we are

It was you and me here dancing from the start

We don’t need money to feel good

Cause you’re the ride or die the rest of my life

Don’t need a party to feel high

We’re like the modern version of Bonnie & Clyde

You see the truth You’re in my heart

And you catch me every time

And if you’re low and fall apart

I’ll bring some peace back in your mind

We love it on the other side

Where the dreams are real, do what we like

Let them point and laugh, at who we are

It was you and me here dancing from the start

We don’t need money to feel good

Cause you’re the ride or die the rest of my life

Don’t need a party to feel high

We’re like the modern version of Bonnie & Clyde

We don’t need money to feel good

Cause you’re the ride or die the rest of my life

Don’t need a party to feel high

We’re like the modern version of Bonnie & Clyde

Give me a three, two, one I’ll be dancing with you

Keep it going on like every day

And in a three two one I’ll shoot you straight to the moon

Through the sky, to the stars in your eyes

They’ve all tried to bring us down but

We keep moving up

They wanna steal our golden crown but

All the roads will lead ‘em back to us

We don’t need money to feel good

Cause you’re the ride or die the rest of my life

Don’t need a party to feel high

We’re like the modern version of Bonnie & Clyde

We don’t need money to feel good

Cause you’re the ride or die the rest of my life

Don’t need a party to feel high

We’re like the modern version of Bonnie & Clyde

The mystery man came over

And he said, "I'm out of site"

One, two, three

The mystery man came over

And he said, "I'm out of site"

He said, for a nominal service charge

I could reach nirvana tonight

One, two, three

The mystery man came over

And he said, "I'm out of site"

He said, for a nominal service charge

I could reach nirvana tonight

If I was ready, willing and able

That's right, you got it, Ruth

Here we go

One, two

We should give those licks numbers

Here we go

One, two, three

The mystery man came over

And he said, "I'm out of site"

He said, for a nominal service charge

I could reach nirvana tonight

If I was ready, willing and able

To pay him his regular fee

You need to put the "peek-a-boo" in there

If I was ready, willing and able

To pay him his regular fee

That's it

The blues, Ruth, this is the blues

One, two, three, four

The mystery man came over

And he said, "I'm out of site"

To reach nirvana tonight

If I was ready, willing and able

To pay him his regular fee

He would drop all the rest of his pressing affairs

And devote his attention to me

But I said

Look here brother

Who you jivin'?

How about that?

Look here brother

Well, what's the difference?

It's the blues, Ruth. You know?

The sadness, the inner turmoil

On the harmony part

Two, three

Look here brother

Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

That's cool

That is so cool

Do it again

Look here brother

One, two, three, four

Look here brother

Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Look here brother

That's right

Well, those days are gone forever, Ruth

On the beginning of "Look here brother"

Two, three, four

Look here brother

Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Look here brother

Two, three, four, one, two, three, four

Who you're jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Okay. One, two, three

Look here brother

Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Now who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Look here brother

Alright, from the beginning

One, two, three, four

The mystery man came over

And he said, "I'm out of site"

He said, for a nominal service charge

I could reach nirvana tonight

If I was ready, willing and able

To pay him his regular fee

He would drop all the rest of his pressing affairs

And devote his attention to me

Look here brother

Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Now who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Look here brother

Don't you waste your time on me

Well, the mystery man got nervous

And he fidget around a bit

He reached in the pocket of his mystery robe

And he whipped out a shaving kit

Now, I thought it was a razor

And a can of foamin' goo

But he told me right then when the top popped open

There was nothin' his box won't do

With the oil of Afro-dytee

And the dust of the Grand Wazoo

He said, "You might not believe this, little fella

But it'll cure your asthma too"

But I said

Look here brother

Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Now who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Look here brother

Don't you waste your time on me

And you can't help me out

So take your meditations and your preparations

And ram it up your snout

"But I've got a chrystal ball", he said

And he held it to the light

So I snatched it all away from him

And I showed him how to do it right

I wrapped a newspaper 'round my head

So I'd look like I was deep

I said some Mumbo Jumbos

Then I told him he was goin' to sleep

I robbed his rings and pocket watch

And everything else I found

I had that sucker hypnotized

He couldn't even make a sound

I proceeded to tell him his future then

As long as he was hanging around

I said, "The price of meat has just gone up

And your old lady has just gone down"

Look here brother

Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?

Now what kind of a guru are you anyway?

Don't you know you could make more money as a butcher

So don't you waste your time on me

"Hey

I own the night and I don't need no help

Gotta be the feeling that Scarface player

Stuntin' go wild can't handle this plan

Life of the club arrogant like, yeah

Top like money all the girls just melt

Want so many all know me like Twelve

Look like cash and they all just stare

Bottles, Models, standin' on chairs

Fall out cause that's the business

All out it's so ridiculous

Zone out so much attention

Scream out I'm in the building (hey)

They watchin' I know this

I'm rockin' I'm rolling

I'm holding, I know it

You know it

You know I know how

To make 'em stop and stare as I zone out

The club can't even handle me right now

Watchin' you watchin' me I go all out

The club can't even handle me right now

The club can't even handle me right now"

Woah, who's at that table over there?

Don't look at them, just don't

We call those three 'The Plastics'

They're shiny, fake, and hard

They play their little mind games

All around the schoolyard

They might insult your clothing

Or make fun of your name

Like they mocked Jen Morecock

'Til she burst into flames

And Ms. Morecock was a teacher

Regina George is the queen bee

She's always dressed up

She always wins Spring Fling Queen

We're just drones who work for her

Then die

My name is Regina George

And I am a massive deal

Fear me, love me

Stand and stare at me

And these, these are real

I've got money and looks

I am, like, drunk with power

This whole school

Humps my leg like a chihuahua

I'm the prettiest poison you've ever seen

I never weigh more than one-fifteen

My name is Regina George

And I am a massive deal

I don't care who you are

I don't care how you feel

That's Gretchen Wieners

She knows everything about everybody

That's why her hair is so big, it's full of secrets

Yes, Regina

No, Regina

Every waking hour

I spend making sure Regina

George can stay in power

If Regina is the sun

Then I'm a disco ball

'Cause I'm just as bright and fun

If you've had alcohol

I worm your secrets out of you

And bring them to my master

And then I watch Regina make your life a big disaster

Disaster!

Regina is the queen

But I'm the head of worker bees

As I am seated at her right hand

Like a Jewish Princess Jesus

That is Karen Smith

The dumbest person you will ever meet

I once saw her put a "D" in the word "orange"

My name is Karen

My hair is shiny

My teeth are perfect

My skirt is tiny

It barely covers

My perky heinie

My name is Karen

I may not be smart

That's it

Right

We never really do this

But how'd you like to

Have lunch with us this week

Oh, it's okay, I-

No, no need for you to thank us

But-

There's no need to even speak

You're new and you don't know things

You need good friends who can tell you what to think

See you here same time tomorrow

On Wednesdays we wear pink

On Wednesdays we wear pink

Yes, Regina (my name is Karen)

No, Regina

Every waking hour (here's where you belong)

I spend making sure Regina (my hair is shiny)

George can stay in power (here's where you belong)

If Regina is the sun (my teeth are perfect)

Then I'm a disco ball (my skirt is tiny)

'Cause I'm just as bright and fun (here's where you belong)

If you've had alcohol

Wear something nice and grab a tray

'Cause we don't do this everyday

Say here's where you belong

Say here's where you belong

No, really, say it

Say here's where you belong

Come sit with us tomorrow

It'll be fetch

It's a little bit funny

This feelin' inside

I'm not one of those who can easily hide

I don't have much money, but boy, if I did

I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor

But then again, no

Or a man who makes potions in a travellin' show, oh

I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do

My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody

This is your song

It may be quite simple, but

Now that it's done

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind

That I put down in words

How wonderful life is

While you're in the world...

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside

I'm not one of those who can easily hide

I don't have much money, but, boy, if I did

I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, heh, but then again, no

Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show

I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do

My gift is my song, and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song

It may be quite simple, but now that it's done

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words

How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss

Well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cross

But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song

It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do

You see, I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue

Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean

Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song

It may be quite simple, but now that it's done

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words

How wonderful life is while you're in the world

"Stressed Out"

I wish I found some better sounds no one's ever heard

I wish I had a better voice that sang some better words

I wish I found some chords in an order that is new

I wish I didn't have to rhyme every time I sang

I was told when I get older all my fears would shrink

But now I'm insecure and I care what people think

My name's 'Blurryface' and I care what you think

My name's 'Blurryface' and I care what you think

Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out (oh)

Wish we could turn back time (oh), to the good old days (oh)

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out

We're stressed out

Sometimes a certain smell will take me back to when I was young

How come I'm never able to identify where it's coming from

I'd make a candle out of it if I ever found it

Try to sell it, never sell out of it, I'd probably only sell one

It'd be to my brother, 'cause we have the same nose

Same clothes homegrown a stone's throw from a creek we used to roam

But it would remind us of when nothing really mattered

Out of student loans and tree-house homes we all would take the latter

My name's 'Blurryface' and I care what you think

My name's 'Blurryface' and I care what you think

Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out (oh)

Wish we could turn back time (oh), to the good old days (oh)

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out

We used to play pretend, give each other different names

We would build a rocket ship and then we'd fly it far away

Used to dream of outer space but now they're laughing at our face

Saying, "Wake up, you need to make money."

Yeah

IMPORTANT: for non-pro users who read the info on a computer, just enlarge your screen to 120% (or more), then the full text will appear below the photo with a white background - which makes reading so much easier.

The color version of the photo above is here: www.lacerta-bilineata.com/ticino-best-photos-of-southern-...

THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:

So far there's only been one photo in my gallery that hasn't been taken in my garden ('The Flame Rider', captured in the Maggia Valley: www.flickr.com/photos/191055893@N07/53563448847/in/datepo... ) - which makes the image above the second time I've "strayed from the path" (although not very far, since the photo was taken only approximately 500 meters from my house).

Overall, I'll stick to my "only-garden rule", but every once in a while I'll show you a little bit of the landscape around my village, because I think it will give you a better sense of just how fascinating this region is, and also of its history.

The title I chose for the photo may seem cheesy, and it's certainly not very original, but I couldn't think of another one, because it's an honest reflection of what I felt when I took it: a profound sense of peace - although if you make it to the end of this text you'll realize my relationship with that word is a bit more complicated.

I got up early that day; it was a beautiful spring morning, and there was still a bit of mist in the valley below my village which I hoped would make for a few nice mood shots, so I quickly grabbed my camera and went down there before the rising sun could dissolve the magical layer on the scenery.

Most human activity hadn't started yet, and I was engulfed in the sounds of the forest as I was walking the narrow trail along the horse pasture; it seemed every little creature around me wanted to make its presence known to potential mates (or rivals) in a myriad of sounds and voices and noises (in case you're interested, here's a taste of what I usually wake up to in spring, but you best use headphones: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfoCTqdAVCE )

Strolling through such an idyllic landscape next to grazing horses and surrounded by birdsong and beautiful trees, I guess it's kind of obvious one would feel the way I described above and choose the title I did, but as I looked at the old stone buildings - the cattle shelter you can see in the foreground and the stable further up ahead on the right - I also realized how fortunate I was.

It's hard to imagine now, because Switzerland is one of the wealthiest countries in the world today, but the men and women who had carried these stones and constructed the walls of these buildings were among the poorest in Europe. The hardships the people in some of the remote and little developed valleys in Ticino endured only a few generations ago are unimaginable to most folks living in my country today.

It wasn't uncommon that people had to sell their own kids as child slaves - the girls had to work in factories or in rice fields, the boys as "living chimney brushes" in northern Italy - just because there wasn't enough food to support the whole family through the harsh Ticino winters.

If you wonder why contemporary Swiss historians speak of "slaves" as opposed to child laborers, it's because that's what many of them actually were: auctioned off for a negotiable prize at the local market, once sold, these kids were not payed and in many cases not even fed by their masters (they had to beg for food in the streets or steal it).

Translated from German Wikipedia: ...The Piazza grande in Locarno, where the Locarno Film Festival is held today, was one of the places where orphans, foundlings and children from poor families were auctioned off. The boys were sold as chimney sweeps, the girls ended up in the textile industry, in tobacco processing in Brissago or in the rice fields of Novara, which was also extremely hard work: the girls had to stand bent over in the water for twelve to fourteen hours in all weathers. The last verse of the Italian folk song 'Amore mio non piangere' reads: “Mamma, papà, non piangere, se sono consumata, è stata la risaia che mi ha rovinata” (Mom, dad, don't cry when I'm used up, it was the rice field that destroyed me.)... de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaminfegerkinder

The conditions for the chimney sweeps - usually boys between the age of 8 and 12 (or younger, because they had to be small enough to be able to crawl into the chimneys) - were so catastrophic that many of them didn't survive; they died of starvation, cold or soot in their lungs - as well as of work-related accidents like breaking their necks when they fell, or suffocatig if they got stuck in inside a chimney. This practice of "child slavery" went on as late as the 1950s (there's a very short article in English on the topic here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spazzacamini and a more in depth account for German speakers in this brief clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gda8vZp_zsc ).

Now I don't know if the people who built the old stone houses along my path had to sell any of their kids, but looking at the remnants of their (not so distant) era I felt an immense sense of gratitude that I was born at a time of prosperity - and peace - in my region, my country and my home. Because none of it was my doing: it was simple luck that decided when and where I came into this world.

It also made me think of my own family. Both of my grandparents on my father's side grew up in Ticino (they were both born in 1900), but while they eventually left Switzerland's poorest region to live in its richest, the Kanton of Zurich, my grandfather's parents relocated to northern Italy in the 1920s and unfortunately were still there when WWII broke out.

They lost everything during the war, and it was their youngest daughter - whom I only knew as "Zia" which means "aunt" in Italian - who earned a little money to support herself and my great-grandparents by giving piano lessons to high-ranking Nazi officers and their kids (this was towards the end of the war when German forces had occupied Italy).

I never knew that about her; Zia only very rarely spoke of the war, but one time when I visited her when she was already over a 100 years old (she died at close to 104), I asked her how they had managed to survive, and she told me that she went to the local prefecture nearly every day to teach piano. "And on the way there would be the dangling ones" she said, with a shudder.

I didn't get what she meant, so she explained. Visiting the city center where the high ranking military resided meant she had to walk underneath the executed men and women who were hanging from the lantern posts along the road (these executions - often of civilians - were the Germans' retaliations for attacks by the Italian partisans).

I never forgot her words - nor could I shake the look on her face as she re-lived this memory. And I still can't grasp it; my house in Ticino is only 60 meters from the Italian border, and the idea that there was a brutal war going on three houses down the road from where I live now in Zia's lifetime strikes me as completely surreal.

So, back to my title for the photo above. "Peace". It's such a simple, short word, isn't it? And we use it - or its cousin "peaceful" - quite often when we mean nice and quiet or stress-free. But if I'm honest I don't think I know what it means. My grandaunt Zia did, but I can't know. And I honestly hope I never will.

I'm sorry I led you down such a dark road; I usually intend to make people smile with the anecdotes that go with my photos, but this one demanded a different approach (I guess with this latest image I've strayed from the path in more than one sense, and I hope you'll forgive me).

Ticino today is the region with the second highest average life expectancy in Europe (85.2 years), and "The Human Development Index" of 0.961 in 2021 was one of the highest found anywhere in the world, and northern Italy isn't far behind. But my neighbors, many of whom are now in their 90s, remember well it wasn't always so.

That a region so poor it must have felt like purgatory to many of its inhabitants could turn into something as close to paradise on Earth as I can imagine in a person's lifetime should make us all very hopeful. But, and this is the sad part, it also works the other way 'round. And I believe we'd do well to remember that, too.

To all of you - with my usual tardiness but from the bottom of my heart - a happy, healthy, hopeful 2025 and beyond.

Together we made it.

Together we made it, we made it

Even though we had our backs up against the wall

See a nigga survived the worst

But my life is glorious

But I know that I leaped every hurdle

And I'm so victorious

Take a look I'm a symbol of greatness

Now call a nigga Morpheus

As force securin' the win

But they believe I'm so notorious

You know that I've been 'bout my bread

Even though we rapping now

(Yes)

We used to live on the strip

Even though a nigga higher level trapping now

I superseded every one of my little struggles and

So your head never ever been an option

A nigga paper long like rush hour traffic

And I'm about to take the hood shoppin', get it

Together we made it

(You see we did it niggas)

We made it

Even though we had our backs up against the wall

(C'mon)

Forever we waited

(Ha ha)

And they told us we were never going to get it

But we took it on the road

(To the riches)

On the road

(To the ghetto)

On the road

(In the projects to this banging instrumental)

On the road

(Ride with me)

On the road

(You come and get it)

On the road

(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yo)

When it all got started

We was steadily just getting rejected

And it seemed like nothing we could do

Would ever get us respected

At best we was stressed

And the worst they probably said was we were pathetic

Had all the pieces to that puzzle

Just a way to connect it

And I was fighting through every rhyme

Tightening up every line

Never resting the question

If I was out of my mind

And it finally came time to do it and let it die

So put the chips on the table

And told them to let it ride

Sing it, ya

Together we made it

(You see we did it niggas)

We made it

Even though we had our backs up against the wall

(C'mon)

Forever we waited

(Ha ha)

And they told us we were never going to get it

But we took it on the road

(To the riches)

On the road

(To the ghetto)

On the road

(In the projects to this banging instrumental)

On the road

(Ride with me)

On the road

(You come and get it)

On the road

(Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Look in case you misunderstand

Exactly what I'm building

The shit that I could leave for my children's

(Children's)

Children's

(Children)

Now on the wake up

I smile to see how far I've come

Fighting for sales on a strip to get hustle from

From nights in jail on a bench using my muscles son

To count money like Dre and Jimmy and Russell was

(Ya nigga)

But now I live when I dream you see me finally getting it

(Oh)

Let's make a toast to the hustle

Regardless how you get it sing it

Together we made it

(You see we did it niggas)

We made it

Even though we had our backs up against the wall

(C'mon)

Forever we waited

(Ha ha)

And they told us we were never going to get it

But we took it on the road

(To the riches)

On the road

(To the ghetto)

On the road

(In the projects to this banging instrumental)

On the road

(Ride with me)

On the road

(You come and get it)

On the road

B♭ (B-Flat)

Further excerpt released. Just a rough draft from the beginning. Like a note. Please read if you'd like. :)

Setting: New York City.

Red, Yellow, Blue——

It was just past 7 p.m. when a light drizzle began to fall on East 52nd Street.

Anaya Patel leaned against the wall of the building next to Tot Ramen, where she was supposed to meet someone, and absently stared at the traffic light at the intersection to her right.

It was already July, yet the summer felt cooler than last year’s. She regretted stepping out in just a T-shirt.

When the light turned green, Anaya squinted, narrowing her gaze.

Kana, her old classmate, was waving and smiling as she ran toward her——

The flat ceiling of Madison Square Garden seemed to bulge slightly with the heat of the crowd, or so it appeared to Jack.

Cheers welcoming the presidential candidate clashed with shouts of outrage, rattling deep inside his ears.

Jack scanned the arena quickly before glancing back down at his iPhone. Several social media apps were open at once, and furious posts streamed across the screen.

One post in the bottom right corner—on Meta—caught his eye.

A death threat.

Presidential candidate Justin Bradford was about to take the stage with his fiancée, Eleanor Blake.

As a red spotlight—the color of the Republican Party—lit up the center of the stage, the couple stepped out.

And at that exact moment, a gunshot rang out.

It was subtle enough to be missed at first—but Jack heard it. Two shots.

As chaos erupted around him, Jack quietly closed his eyes, picturing the trajectory.

The first bullet—likely from his right, near the PA system. But that area should have been covered by agents from his own unit.

He calculated the second shot. It probably came from the left side of the stage.

It was aimed with precision, taking into account the positioning of both Justin and Eleanor.

There might have been a leak.

Then came a second report.

His colleague Ben Holloway’s voice, calm as ever.

The heart was missed, but both bullets had hit. One had grazed it and lodged in the epigastric area, just under the diaphragm.

Jack replied, equally calm.

“Justin’s Bombay blood. I confirmed it three days ago with Bellevue Hospital. They have reserves stored.”

Ben responded in a low voice, as if nothing had happened.

“Understood.”

Justin was rushed to Bellevue, the closest hospital to Madison Square Garden.

Jack called Elijah Kane directly from his smartphone.

Using WhatsApp or any other messaging app was strictly forbidden in the Secret Service.

Elijah answered before the first ring ended.

“Jack, it’s bad. We don’t have it. No Bombay blood.”

Jack was stunned.

“I confirmed it three days ago. I spoke directly to the person in charge—can't recall their name—but I saw the blood bags myself.”

After a pause, Elijah replied.

“That person died in a car accident yesterday.”

Anaya Patel waited for her husband Arjun at Tot Ramen.

With her was Mika (Sato), her best friend since college—Japanese.

Just as the server placed a steaming bowl of ramen in front of her, Anaya’s phone rang.

The caller ID said Bellevue Hospital.

She answered without hesitation.

Mika looked on, concerned.

“Is this Anaya Patel? I’m Sasha Wilson from Emergency.

You may have heard—Republican presidential candidate has been shot.

We need your blood.

Stay where you are. A Secret Service vehicle is en route.”

Following Mika’s gaze, Anaya turned to the display above the counter.

A live report from MSG was playing.

Then, a man in a sleek blue suit with brown skin approached her.

“I’m Rohan Shah, Secret Service.

Please come with me to the hospital.

The car is ready.”

He reached for her hand with urgency.

Just then, Anaya’s iPhone buzzed again. An unfamiliar number.

She tapped it.

“Hello?”

“Anaya Patel?”

“Yes. Who is this?”

“Jack. Jack Vance. Secret Service. I’ll be there shortly.”

“How do you know where I am?”

“We’re professionals. We have our ways.”

“But the Secret Service guy is already here.”

“No—he’s not!” Jack’s voice roared through the phone.

At that instant, the man in front of her pulled a rifle from under his jacket and aimed it at her forehead.

A small gunshot rang through the restaurant.

Anaya froze.

She couldn’t speak.

As the man collapsed to the floor, another figure emerged—also pointing a gun at her.

It was her husband, Arjun.

“Freeze! FBI!”

NYPD officers in uniform and FBI agents in gray suits stormed in.

“Hands behind your head! Get down on the floor!”

The cliché movie-like commands rang out as Anaya trembled. Mika, too.

But probably no one shook more than Arjun.

Jack arrived moments later.

“Anaya Patel!”

Still trembling, Anaya answered without looking up.

“That’s me.”

Jack, drenched in sweat, pulled her upright.

“We’re going to the hospital.”

A message from Elijah arrived with a link.

Jack, now in the passenger seat with Anaya, tossed her his iPhone.

“Open it!”

She tapped it—it appeared to be a livestream.

“Good evening, New York. And Los Angeles.

My name is Zakaria Haddad.

That’s my real name.

A few years ago, I lived in Gaza.

Now I’m in a room that mimics one you know very well.”

A man with brown skin and a beard sat in what looked almost exactly like the Oval Office.

He looked at his watch, then back at the camera.

“It’s time for breaking news.

Keep your eyes on your phones.”

Just then, an alert popped up:

BREAKING: Former Democratic President Owen Reed reportedly shot at the Los Angeles Convention Center

Zakaria bowed his head slightly and chuckled.

“A sad headline, isn’t it?

But don’t be sad, America.

In Gaza, we endured 55,000 times worse.

We lost more than 55,000 loved ones.

We wept—endlessly.”

Still looking down, he clenched his fists and slammed the desk.

When he looked up, tears glistened in his eyes.

“We do not seek money.

Nor honor through death.

All we want—

are tears.

Tears equal to the ones we shed.

Only those tears can heal us.”

Placing both elbows on the desk and clasping his hands, Zakaria gently rested his chin on them. He closed his eyes, and a heavy silence filled the room. The corners of his eyes seemed to tremble ever so slightly. Then, slowly, he began to speak.

“I am just one among fifty-five thousand. Even if I disappear, the will of fifty thousand others will remain—unchanging, undying, carried forward. I am here to give voice to that will.”

Zakaria opened the desk drawer, took out a Glock 17, and slid the action, chambering a round. He raised the gun to his temple.

A Sunni Muslim, he looked straight into the camera and spoke with a hint of sarcasm.

“God bless you. America.”

Zakaria closed his eyes and pulled the trigger straight back. A dry crack echoed through the room.

The screen cut to black in an instant.

To be continued...

8mm film of our honeymoon resurrected after decades.

youtu.be/zH-dG7bMeL4?si=yLF5_f1m-LhAVdPp

We found the 8mm film of our honeymoon for the first time in decades, and burned it onto a DVD.

On June 6, 1993, we got married, and headed straight to Nassau, Bahamas, via New York.

Our destination was the pink sand beach where the late Princess Diana went on her honeymoon.

If you're heading to the Bahamas, this might be a good reference.

The hotel we stayed at was the Ramada Hotel, which no longer exists.

My wife is showing us the hotel room.

But now you can see the beautiful scenery in real time.

When I played the DVD that arrived, it showed footage of our arrival in the Bahamas.

Please take a look if you'd like.

This time, we asked Fujifilm to make the DVD.

I'll post the link below.

To achieve this, she needs the influence of Ryo Osawa, a well-known radio producer.

During a live radio broadcast, Osawa speaks directly to Kaori:

Main story

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.

One to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.

The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine

quietly.

Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.

I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.

That is the meaning of a rebirth.

I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.

After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After

she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies

until I realized it is love?

I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the

daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.

I had been thinking about such a thing.

However I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see

something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous unstable

tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.

Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

My Novel : Unforgettable'

(This book is Dedicated to the future artist.)

Kei Kitami, a student preparing for university entrance exams, meets Kaori Kamimura, an event companion six years his senior, through social media.

Kaori has come to Tokyo with a dream—to befriend famous artists.

To achieve this, she needs the influence of Ryo Osawa, a well-known radio producer.

During a live radio broadcast, Osawa speaks directly to Kaori:

*"I have a wife and child. But still, I want to see you."*

Meanwhile, Rika Sanjo, Kei’s classmate who secretly harbors feelings for him, is closely watching Kaori’s every move...

Beta Radio - On Your Horizon 🎶

As far as I remember, the first money I earned fruit of my work was in my first year in Highschool. My school had a small library on the top floor of the old building, a place rarely visited by anybody, let alone the students, and it served more like a storage room for books than a proper library. I have a vague memory of that place, for I am describing events that happened many years ago, but I remember it as a dark, warm and quiet place, with just one window overseeing the small inner playground, and old solid dark wooden furniture. Promoted by my parents and my grandfather, my romance with books had started many years before, when I was only a kid with the pockets still full of innocence. Knowing that the very place where I was attending school every day had its own library caught my interest immediately, enough to make me overcome my shyness and ask one of the literature teachers permission to spend time in the library. His name was Juan B., a short, grave man, with thick glasses, tie, corduroy trousers and a funny way to walk because of a back injury when he was younger. The teacher was surprised that someone showed any interest in the library, used as he was to his students spilling hormones and avid to experiment the practical world instead, and immediately opened the doors of the small library to me and asked me if I would be willing to update their obsolete catalogue. Needless to say, this was like a dream come true for me, I accepted and I would spend hours after my classes during that course labelling books with codes, sorting them according to topic and alphabetically by author, handwriting record cards, one for each book, with all the bibliographic details and archiving them in the small drawers of a metal filing cabinet.

Before the course ended, I had managed to bring that library to a new life, cataloguing, sorting and filing hundreds of books. And to the satisfaction of the work done, I had to add a final surprise that was in store for me: even though I never asked for anything like that, the school wanted to show their appreciation for the work done and they paid me a small amount of money they agreed with the literature teacher. When the classes finished on the day I received this money, I ran to the closest book shop in town, just two streets away from my School, and spent all the money I just earned in books for me! Nearly 40 years later, I still have these books with me, and carried them to every country and every city where I lived so far. One of my literary preferences then, as it is now, could not be more obvious when I showed very excited all the books I bought to my mum, when I arrived home: Lovecraft, Mary Shelley, Conan Doyle, William Golding, Maupassant, Stoker, Stevenson, and the cherry on top of that cake, a 560-pages paperback with tiny printed letters including all the short stories by Edgar Allan Poe, which I started reading that same night!

The first story in that book was The Fall of the House of Usher, a delightful XIXth Century gothic horror story with many elements of a XIXth Century gothic horror story, including a cursed family, that of the twins Roderick and Madeline Usher, a haunted house which seemed alive, madness, and the obsessive fear of being buried alive. Stories like this fascinated me, set my own imagination in motion and made me dream of becoming a writer myself, a storyteller, one day, which didn't quite happen yet, but I still have time left. And, of course, I continued maturing and developing my interest on this literary genre, becoming a devoted fan of King, Howard, Moore, and my favourite author of all times when it comes to Fantasy, Gaiman. Some weeks ago, I heard of a Netflix series by Mike Flanagan homonymous with that story I read for the first time 35 years earlier, and got curious. I surprisingly managed to find the time shortly after to watch the entire series over a weekend and I truly enjoyed the characters, the acting, the aesthetics and atmosphere, and the ghosts story, only very loosely related to Poe's short story, but nicely weaved with references to the works of the brilliant Bostonian author, including beautifully recited original (or mostly original) poems or references to them, one of which I shall transcribe below.

The night after watching the series, I had my 560-pages paperback book with Poe's short stories by my bedside, and read The Fall of the House of Usher again, this time with older eyes in an older body, on a larger bed and in a strange city, but with exactly the same mind of the kid, with the same need and ease to be awed. And the seemingly unimportant decision to watch a Netflix series took me, as it happens, on a trip back in time that kept me awake until the wee hours of the morning, meditating again about events, emotions and experiences in my life, some of which I shared here and now, more aware than ever that life is nothing but a dream within a dream.

A Dream Within a Dream

Edgar A. Poe (1849)

Take this kiss upon the brow!

And, in parting from you now,

Thus much let me avow:

You are not wrong who deem

That my days have been a dream;

Yet if hope has flown away

In a night, or in a day,

In a vision, or in none,

Is it therefore the less gone?

All that we see or seem

Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar

Of a surf-tormented shore,

And I hold within my hand

Grains of the golden sand--

How few! yet how they creep

Through my fingers to the deep,

While I weep--while I weep!

O God! can I not grasp

Them with a tighter clasp?

O God! can I not save

One from the pitiless wave?

Is all that we see or seem

But a dream within a dream?

🌐 My version of a decrepit House of Usher was photographed in Aurelias Fables & Fairytales.

I try not to get bogged down about gear. What I have does the job, and I’m far more interested in places and moments in time than the equipment I’m using to make images. Generally speaking, if one of the YouTube crowd uploads a video about the latest offering from their chosen brand, it gets the swerve from me. I’ve stuck with the same manufacturer throughout, and I only went in that direction in the first place because I had some old lenses from the days when I used to dabble in film. Imagine my surprise when I was told they’d work on the shiny new digital camera I'd just ordered from the grey import zone?

But recently I’d been ruminating over a possible shift change, and only because of one thing. This summer, for the first time in a number of years we have a mildly adventurous escapade planned. North of the border and on foot, where weight becomes an issue. And what was particularly troubling me was the lack of a decent lens that didn’t weigh half a ton and that I could plonk onto the camera body and cover most of the focal lengths I might need on such a trip. It had got to the point where I was seriously considering the acquisition of a mirrorless affair by another brand, with a longer term view to shifting everything and moving lock, stock and tripod over to an entirely new system. All because I wanted something light to carry on an eighty mile hiking trip across Scotland. Usually, wherever I go I’m carrying a camera that’s built (and ever so slightly shaped) like a tank, and three equally lumpy lenses, not to mention filters, microfibre cloths, rocket blower and whatever else is lurking in the bag. And a tripod. The telephoto lens alone weighs almost two kilos, and I’m not getting any younger. I’m intent on getting to the top of a mountain or two this summer, and the thought of lugging all of that gear to a lofty highland summit without the assistance of a team of sherpas seems a bit much. So maybe I’d invest in the much lighter set up that some of you are using, and see where it went from there. I had a look at prices from my favourite second hand kit websites and prepared myself to part with a four figure sum. Only just four figures, but even so, that’s a holiday for two right there.

My fear was I’d end up torn between two systems. You see I really like what I already have, and I’m really not that keen to pack it all up and send it off to MPB, especially having seen how well second hand values for an indispensable 100-400mm lens from the other side were holding up. Still, I was in no rush. I’d wait and review the options. It was only when one of you shared a post elsewhere about the budget lens you’d just purchased (from the same place) that a light bulb exploded between my ears. I’d had that lens several years ago before selling it (to the same place again) as I upgraded from a crop body to full frame in advance of the first Iceland trip. I liked it at the time, and quickly remembered that it had been my main lens when Dave, Lee and I had once spent three highly productive winter days in Glencoe. Not long after returning to work, the guys in the reprographics department tested their new large format printer with one of the images from that trip and filled half a wall with it. It looked good enough to me. Six years later it’s still there in fact - I know because I popped in to say hello over Easter. Why on earth had I ever let that lens go? I started to keep an eye on second hand prices.

It wasn’t long before one appeared on our favourite auction site at a very agreeable price, and just a few days later the postman arrived with a small parcel at my front door. Its first test run was in the usual place, on an unexpectedly glowing evening. I still have a crop body that gets regular outings thanks to its articulating screen, but I knew that for a very reasonable second hand price I could pick up an even smaller model, which despite the size difference is pretty much the same camera. I now have a walking set up that cost me less than a third of the mirrorless assembly I was considering, which weighs under a kilo and fits comfortably well into a generously sized coat pocket. And I can use the new gear with my existing collection. Ali has yet to notice that a third camera has mysteriously arrived into our home. I've taken to leaving them around the house in separate places in the hopes that she doesn't spot the subterfuge. Ok, so I’m sure the mirrorless system wins out on sharpness if you start zooming in at the corners, but not by three times the price worth it doesn’t. This will do very nicely for me thank you. I can’t stop picking it up and marvelling at its miniscule proportions.

So I’m ready for Scotland now. Well I will be once I’ve spent some of the money I’ve managed to cling to on a cast iron midge net, six gallons of tiny flying vampire repellent (Avon Skin So Soft if you were wondering), and a suit of armour for when the other two items fail. The last of which will probably pay havoc with the weight savings.

I stumbled into an American military expert, author of two widely quoted books, who holds the following satirical view :

" America's involvement into this bloody mess in the Middle East is understandable--it is wrong, often criminal, but it is understandable. Superpower's rah-rah, "best friend" Israel and shit of this nature, but UK in this whole thing is a comical entity, trying to address its phantom pains of Great Empire of the past so desperately that it is comical. Make no mistake, London City, banks, all this glory of the sun never setting on the empire, in the end--English Premiere League--try to counter this. The best, undeniably, league in the world, way better than La Liga or Bundesliga, and there is no denial of that. London still retains its Victorian grandeur in some places, where they are still able to maintain at least some acceptable norms of public safety and sanitation, but writing is on the wall. No matter how legendary and beloved Manchester United, or Liverpool, or Chelsea are for many around the globe, UK is a basket case economically, culturally and militarily.

London may have some money, for now, it has no real international subjectivity and is in a perpetual search for this dopamine-laced feeling of self-importance and if it is by pretending that UK matters by means of support for all kinds of human trash, I am sure heirs to James Bond's glory will do it maintaining their stiff upper lip. I don't know if they know at the 10 Downing Street that they are pathetic, but the reality of UK is simply sad--it becomes fast a totalitarian state which is drowning in political correctness, UK's economy is in tatters (wink, wink, if you know what I mean):

London (CNN Business)UK economic output shrank by 20.4% in the second quarter of 2020, the worst quarterly slump on record, pushing the country into the deepest recession of any major global economy. This crash in GDP in the April-June period, compared with the first quarter, is the worst since quarterly records began in 1955. Industries most exposed to government lockdown measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic — services, production and construction — saw record drops.

If one discards some famous UK manufacturing brands such as still relevant Rolls-Royce or some other aerospace elements tied into BAE Systems, there is very little, frankly, to talk about what UK produces anymore and what has any global trade impact by being competitive. The times of British glorious and highly relevant and viable national aerospace industry are gone forever, UK cannot anymore out of own resources and talent produce world-class combat jet, nor can she do it for a commercial aircraft, being fully integrated into Airbus "family" owning 20% stake with other 80% belonging to EADS. What else, what else... Ah, British Armed Forces are a joke. Today British Army numbers a whopping 79,000 of regular personnel and is getting ready to abandon tanks as a viable combined arms element altogether. Once glorious and legendary Royal Navy has enough ships and subs to demonstrate flag and, maybe, win another Falkland campaign against grossly inferior power, granted its two aircraft carriers will be able to deploy enough F-35Bs to the theater, but that is about it. In other words, UK is a military and economic backwater and I say this with a degree of sorrow. I, as many of my peers, grew up with great British literature, indeed, unique and massive British contribution in science, culture and other fields of human activity. Come on, we grew up with Beatles, Deep Purple and some quirky, and wonderful, British movies. In the end, Great Britain was our second most important ally in WW II. That Britain is no more.

UK's trade balance is a negative 130 billion Pounds, the most popular boy's name in London is Mohamed, and in general things look so...promising for this once prosperous Kingdom that desperation is in the air. So, what's left? Right, try to play games adults play, get into chihuahua mode and get into the middle of the fight of mastiffs. How? Easy, you just read about it--make a stink that everyone notices you, that you are relevant, that you still can influence the events in the world and this may make a phantom pain of a gone greatness less acute. As for hundreds of thousands killed and millions displaced--no price is too high, because it is for the bloody greater good... "

The city is at a war

Playtime for the young and rich

Ignore me if you see me 'cause I just don't give a shit

The city is at war

Bless the young and rich

With designer drugs and designer friends

Here's how it goes

It's about who you know

If you got money you get in for free

Get on your knees if you wanna reach the top

The party never stops (never stops!)

Don't stop now (don't stop now!)

Come on!

Stick around and see how it ends

Get the money and run

And meet me at the parking lot

Bang bang! Shoot 'em up, yeah

The city is at war

Playtime for the young and rich

Ignore me if you see me 'cause I just don't give a shit

The city is at war

Bless the young and rich

With designer drugs and designer friends

This little girl was alone in the world

Until she found a way to get a fix for free

Oh pretty please

It breaks my heart to see another tragedy

She finally got her picture on TV

Come on!

Live it up while you can

We all lose in the end

No you don't get another shot

Bang bang! Shoot 'em up, yeah

~The City is at War by Cobra Starship

~~~
For some reason, this song makes me think of Ciel and Alois ^_^;
Teehee, new clothes for Ciel :D
Yep, this guy is a grumpy old man!
As I'm preparing to post these two pieces of work today I'm listening (as I often do) to Max Richter (Dreams 3). Is there a better composer in the world today who can capture in such musical simplicity our current plight? Let's be honest, the past year and a half has been hell for many, if not most of us. No need to detail why unless you've come from Mars. Is there a way visually we can also express such ideas and make them real?
We live in a confused and abused world right now. There are far more questions than there are answers (and if you don't realise that then please wake up from your slumber). When politicians talk about the "new normal" and how everything has changed, you must start asking what they intend to use this current world crisis for. One thing we have seen over the past year is that the masks are off. (Think about it).
The true nature and perhaps horror of our modern faithless, untrusting and even unkind world (which we've conveniently hidden under apparent economic success - all borrowed money by the way!) is being exposed to the Light. The great divides have opened up again, whether it be between rich or poor nations, between racial identity groups being cleverly steered into inevitable conflict, the real threat of war being sounded in many news reports (you must have heard). The horror (there is no other word for it) goes on. And the greatest tragedy of all is that unless we open our hearts to feel each other's pain, and truly empathise, we will be hardened even more. And a world in which people's hearts can no longer feel the pain of Others is a truly lost world.
We need to dream again. Of what it really means to be human when all those trappings of "success" are stripped from us. Remember that magnificent speech Charlie Chaplin made in "The Great Dictator", we need that spirit once again. If we are to survive at all as a species.
Take 4 minutes to watch this speech. It's the greatest thing Charlie Chaplin ever did.
10 year anniversary of my digital photography.
When the mountains call us, we should make our way there, because our souls need the peace and solitude that prevails on such places. That's how I experience it again and again when I'm allowed to be on the top of the world. In our hectic and fast-moving world, it is important not to lose the connection to nature, otherwise we become alienated from it.
With my first real digital camera where you could change the lenses, I immediately set off to one of the highest and most impressive places in the world of the Swiss Alps, the Aletsch Glacier with its magnificent mountains. Here at this point I am in the middle of the giants of the Swiss mountains with many 4000m high peaks. I myself stand at about 3000 meters above sea level and look at the largest ice glacier from the Alps in Europe. The length of the glacier is 22.6 km, the area is given as 78.49 km². A gigantic ice surface that fascinated me from the first moment. The weather was very challenging on this autumn day in October, because the wind was very strong and the clouds only gave way to the sun for a very short time. It was all over just a few minutes later and the glacier with the beautiful mountains disappeared under a thick layer of fog and clouds. I was very lucky to be able to take at least these few pictures and I am very happy to present one of them to you here. Please excuse the somewhat poorer image quality, because I didn't had enough money for a better camera at that time. But I really wanted to share these fascinating moments on the roof of my beloved Switzerland with you and pull out some of my digital photography from my archive. I hope you enjoy the view over this spectacular landscape.
This picture here is not a photographic masterpiece at all, I simply had to be in the right place at the right time. Nothing else.
To the picture himself: Aletsch glacier in the Valais & Bernese Alps - Switzerland. The mountains in the Region of Valais are the highest in Switzerland. Not far from the Aletsch Glacier is the famous Matterhorn.
“May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being, may you walk gently through the world and know it's beauty all the days of your life.”
Westlife - You Raise Me Up
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bxc9hbwkkw
There are people who labour under the misapprehension that YouTube has only been created for people who want to look at videos of skateboarding cats or people miming Bohemian Rhapsody into a pretend microphone - usually in the form of a hairbrush. I have a friend who likes to share clips of small children talking away about My Little Pony or some such entertainment, who innocently drop in an unfortunate Anglo-Saxon profanity that they've overheard at home more than once before. "I can't think where she gets it from....." the parents giggle nervously into the camera.
So while it can't be denied that YouTube has released a torrent of mind numbing mediocrity designed to further rot our crumbling brains, it also comes with enormous benefits. Thanks to YouTube I managed to plan a very successful hiking adventure in Scotland a few years ago, and a cycling expedition in France too. I learned how to put my tent up in eight minutes single handed (so much easier than reading the instructions), and I discovered that you can make an emergency stove with an empty beer can and a small supply of methylated spirits. I even found out how to change the light bulbs on my car - which used to be easy, but manufacturers like to build cars that can't be attended to without a laptop and a bloke with a pencil behind his ear these days.
What has made YouTube especially helpful in recent years is its landscape photography contributors. I'll wager I'm not the only one among us who's never been on a photography course or attended a Photoshop lesson. Why would you do that when you can sit in front of Nigel Danson or Mads Peter-Iversen on a Sunday morning and watch them impart their wisdom while you dose yourself up on coffee? Why would you spend money to sit in a draughty classroom when people like this so evidently love the exact same type of subject that you do and produce output that both enlightens and entertains to well?
I took this shot on the Saturday before Christmas Day. That very morning I'd watched Nick Page explain to me why I needed a very expensive pair of knee length rubber socks and Nigel Danson had reminded me to wrap up warm on cold days with a merino wool base layer (although hiking had already taught me this). As I stood on the clifftop above Chapel Porth I thanked Henry Turner for leading me to the camera bag I've been looking for ever since I started - you can use the waist straps to open it without having to dump it on wet ground, and I swear there are still undiscovered compartments in mine. It's Henry, a youngster no older than my own children, who has taught me to embrace the weather whatever it brings. His enthusiasm for our rotten British climate is surprisingly persuasive you know. This Christmas I've been out with the camera in heavy rain no less than six times, and I only started to get fed up on the fifth occasion. Without Henry's good cheer I'd have probably stayed indoors.
If it hadn't been for Mads Peter-Iversen it might not have occurred to me what a difference is made to an image by having a human presence to give it scale. Fortunately my patience paid off when this wonderful couple got that bit closer to the edge of the incoming tide than anyone else was prepared to. I do wish one of my mentors could teach me to take a decent picture on Chapel Porth Beach though. Visit after visit over the years has found me forever scratching my head in confusion. I've only ever got one image down there that I'm happy with and I seem to have inadvertently deleted it from my Flickr stream.
I was at Chapel Porth again today - without the camera - and I've got another idea, but it will have to wait for now. Tomorrow morning's return to work after an eleven day Christmas break hangs over me like the Sword of Damacles and I haven't yet found a YouTuber who can persuade me on the positive aspects of being chained to a desk all week. It's probably nearly bedtime already........
Hi everyone.
I won't carp on this. But it is a big anniversary for me. I actually feel very free from this now. It clouded all off 2010 and took my light away. But it is back, I found it in Arosa and through the passage of time.
My father was a gigging musician, so this shot, from my November tour, is a tribute to him and the nights he spent.
Many of you already know the story.
But some of you don't. If anyone is interested, this is a record of what happened with my father. I won't mention it again any time soon, but I need to make another tribute to his memory after all that happened.
I never met my father.
Easter Day 2008 a woman contacted me about him, and I decided to try to find him. We spoke for the first time the day I learned the friend in this video was killed in a car accident.
www.youtube.com/user/piano4film#p/u/70/cL4oJ7K1KY8
After this I had a few phone calls and some letters and gifts from my father. July 2008 I drove to the remote area in the Catskills to meet him, but I could not find him.
We were never in the same room, face to face. We never touched or saw each other's expression. I had not heard from him in about 3 months and we had not spoken in about 6.
I never learned much about him and had many questions.
I still do. I learned 1/11/10 he died sometime in the last 2 weeks.
1/12/10
He lived in a very remote area, in a 12 by 5 foot trailer with no electricity, a battery powered radio, and a propane heater. He was last seen Dec 22, and had probably been dead since around Christmas. I am waiting for the coroner's report, a few of my father's things, and his ashes. I am used to the idea, though sad, and full of questions. He obviously chose to be alone. He was free, and lived out the consequences of his actions.
1/20/10 a box with some of his belongings arrived. The smell was horrible.
I have salvaged a few documents and a xylophone. It is strange to see the remnants of a life. You can hear it here:
www.flickr.com/photos/piano4film/4311045566/
The box was very hard to open it. It contained all I will get of my father's belongings.
A man I never met.
It had eye-glasses, a Bible, papers, some interesting family documents, a photo album with several pictures of a dog in a burned out house, and this photo of me:
www.flickr.com/photos/my_fake_plastic_earth/3431723004/
I sent it to him after my recital on Horowitz' piano.
1/25/10 His ashes and a letter from Veterans Affairs offering burial stones and services arrived today.
I am relieved to have them and hope to spread some of them in Kamakura. He was stationed for a time in Yokohama.
1/11/11
I took the ashes to Japan in June of 2010... I made this video
www.flickr.com/photos/piano4film/4744584201/
A year has past since the phone call from the police. I am much more at peace.
But puzzle at what almost was.
The insurance, coroner, and bank conspired so I got no money. I learned how the people looking in on him would wait weeks to see him. He really was alone.
The hardest part for me is there are no happy memories, only questions, horror, and disconnection. But I found my light again. The last Swiss trip really helped me.
Thanks if you got this far.
All the best
Tony
TLC - „Waterfalls“
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WEtxJ4-sh4
A lonely mother gazin' out of the window
Staring at her son that she just can't touch
If at any time he's in a jam, she'll be by his side
But he doesn't realize he hurts her so much
But all the praying just ain't helping at all
'Cause he can't seem to keep his self out of trouble
So he goes out and he makes his money the best way he knows how
Another body layin' cold in the gutter, listen to me
Don't go chasin' waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast
Little precious has a natural obsession
For temptation but he just can't see
She gives him loving that his body can't handle
But all he can say is, "Baby it's good to me"
One day he goes and take a glimpse in the mirror
But he doesn't recognize his own face
His health is fading and he doesn't know why
Three letters took him to his final resting place, y'all, don't hear me
Don't go chasin' waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast
Ah c'mon
I seen a rainbow yesterday,
But too many storms have come and joined
Leavin' a trace of not one God-given ray
Is it because my life is ten shades of gray
I pray, all ten fade away seldom praise Him for the sunny days
And like His promise is true only my faith can undo
The many chances I blew to bring my life to anew
Clear and blue and unconditional
Skies have dried the tears from my eyes, no more lonely cries
My only bleedin' hope is for the folk who can't cope
With such an endurin' pain that it keeps them in the pourin' rain
Who's to blame for tootin' caine into your own vein
What a shame, you shoot and aim for someone else's brain
You claim the insane and ain't this day and time for fallin'
Prey to crime I say the system got you victim to your mind
Dreams are hopeless aspirations in hopes of coming true
Believe in yourself, the rest is up to me and you
Don't go chasin' waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast
Oh you're moving too fast
Don't go chasin' waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast
Wow, I'm sick of doubt
Live in the light of certain
South
Cruel bindings.
The servants have the power
Dog-men and their mean women
Pulling poor blankets over
Our sailors
I'm sick of dour faces
Staring at me from the tv
Tower, I want roses in
My garden bower; dig?
Royal babies, rubies
Must now replace aborted
Strangers in the mud
These mutants, blood-meal
For the plant that's plowed.
They are waiting to take us into
The severed garden
Do you know how pale and wanton thrillful
Comes death on a strange hour
Unannounced, unplanned for
Like a scaring over-friendly guest you've
Brought to bed
Death makes angels of us all
And gives us wings
Where we had shoulders
Smooth as raven's
Claws
No more money, no more fancy dress
This other kingdom seems by far the best
Until it's other jaw reveals incest
And loose obedience to a vegetable law.
I will not go
Prefer a feast of friends
To the giant family.
Oh, Sono Stufo del dubbio
Di vivere alla luce di un certo
Sud
Legàmi crudeli
I servi hanno il potere
uomini spregevoli e le loro volgari donne
stendono misere coperte sui
nostri marinai
(E tu dov'eri nella nostra povera ora?)
A titillarti i baffi
o a sfogliare una margherita?
Sono stufo di facce severe
Che mi fissano dalla torre televisiva
voglio delle rose nel pergolato del mio giardino; capito?
Bambini regali, rubini
devono ora prendere il posto
di stranieri abortiti nel fango
Questi mutanti, pasto di sangue
per la pianta seminata
Stanno aspettando di portarci nel
giardino separato
Sai quanto pallida e sfrenatamente eccitante
viene la morte a una strana ora
inattesa, imprevista
come uno spaventoso ospite più che amichevole che ti
sei portato a letto
La morte rende angeli tutti noi
e ci dà ali
dove avevamo spalle
lisce come corvine
grinfie
Basta denaro, basta abiti di lusso
Quest'altro Regno é di gran lunga migliore
finchè la sua doppia faccia rivela l'incesto
e la libera obbedienza a una legge idiota
Non andrò
Preferisco una Festa di Amici
Alla Grande Famiglia
Some people, especially celebrities, think that the most beautiful thing in the world is wear clothing made with animal fur. These people are totally wrong ... this is a SHAME, a CRIME, a INFRINGEMENT, a MURDER!
Do you know how many animals are needed to do a simple coat?
(approximate numbers)
-> fox: 30
-> ferret: 70
-> seal pups : 15
-> otter: 40
-> rabbit :50
-> chinchilla: 200+
-> squirrel: 400+ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you still want to buy a fur coat??
I confess that I cried seeing these pictures and videos ... how can the human be so cruel with the animals just to get some money, status and "beauty"?
these selfish people should be skinned alive as they do with the animals, they are COWARDS.
One day the justice will be done, but as we are in a world whose only worth the money, it'll take a long time .... and the animals do not have much time to wait, their cries for help are not heard ... take a look at the number of animals that are dead for each coat ....
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHO COMMENTED, YOU REALLY CARES, YOU MAY BE MAKING THE DIFFERENCE.
-------------------------------------------
To this picture, I get inspired by so many photos of protests, some photos are on the list above.
The "blood/raw" on Gabriella's body was made with real make-up.
This challenge is the one that most touched me (from all the 3 cycles) , it was really very difficult and also good, because it is my own way of protest against this absurd
The phrases scattered throughout the picture, some I copied and some I created from the photos of the protests against the slaughter of animals for the fur clothing production
Gabriella is representing the suffering of an animal being skinned alive
ps.: I was cleaning her body and noticed she got lots of pink stains >.<
and they don't want to come off!! what can I do??
Thoughts on April 10th
youtu.be/3y-kGHO4GPo?si=V3UDiIkdXsuR5j_f
1. Trump's mutual tariff warhead explodes 😅
Everyone chose it, right? There's nothing we can do about it 😅
2. Elon Musk and Steve Jobs are completely different 😃
Self-driving is just around the corner! It's been a few years since he declared that. Tesla, which is still not yet achieved, and Jobs, who announced it after completely perfecting the iPhone, are completely different.
3. Toyota's new Crown is the crystallization of an artist's spirit that is not afraid of change.
The mindset seen in an SUV that has changed dramatically from the conventional sedan.
4. The collapse of capitalism and the equality brought about by the Internet.
The pursuit of rare earths and the destruction of music and movies by subscription services are bringing changes to capitalism itself.
(We're in the middle of this, so we're arguing a lot 😅)
5. How to raise children and thoughts about children who have grown up
Never nag them. Don't make them shrink. Do everything voluntarily.
Be aware of how to manage your money yourself.
6. Just like the change from Biden to Trump, personnel decisions are not related to ability. 😅
However, I will receive something in return for the effort I put into myself, and contribute that to the future. 😃
It's the same as previous photographers in Japan. I'm just giving up my seat to acquaintances. 😃
7. I don't mind dying when my child graduates from college. 😅 Of course, I'll quit my job right away. 😃 I want to go to New York for a bit. 😃
That's all I said while driving.
If you have a lot of free time, please feel free to read it. 😃
“A.I. - About Apple’s Identity”
www.flickr.com/photos/stealaway/54271473379/in/dateposted...
### Will Apple Listen to Mark Zuckerberg’s Criticism?
I Don’t Think So—At Least Not for Someone Enchanted by the Apple Vision Pro.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, recently appeared on a well-known podcast, where he criticized Apple for failing to release an innovative product since the iPhone and for experiencing a decline in sales.
Appearing on a podcast originating from Apple and then proceeding to criticize the company might seem like a lighthearted joke, but I believe he was serious.
Why? Because he now wields a weapon—the AR glasses.
With the support of various institutions and a team of highly skilled professionals, he has likely achieved some notable milestones. Yet, as someone who has been a devoted Apple user since the PowerBook 540c, I still do not sense any real craftsmanship or identity in what he creates.
This sentiment extends to other IT giants that currently dominate the world—Meta, Amazon, Tesla, Microsoft, and Google.
Just by listing their names, readers of this text are likely already picturing their respective CEOs.
In the past, I wrote that Steve Jobs was not an artist.
What he excelled at was weaving together scattered ideas from across the world, expanding upon them, and linking them to the future.
The true creator was Jonathan Ive.
A minority of people may share this perspective with me.
However, when I see these IT moguls quickly shifting their corporate stances the moment the possibility of Trump returning to power emerges, I feel compelled to speak my mind.
The AR glasses, the cars—everything they create lacks a fundamental concept.
Call it ideology or, in lighter terms, identity.
It is true that Tim Cook and Apple’s current team have become more prone to letting slip details about upcoming products before their official release.
I have always loved music.
Artists shut themselves in a studio, cutting off the outside world, pouring their anger, hatred, joy, and sorrow into each note with intense focus.
It’s as if they are entrusting something to their music.
And when they finally release their album, they explain the emotions and thoughts behind its creation.
(Prince, whom I admire, rarely spoke about his work, so understanding his art required engaging with the final product itself.)
Until an album is complete and released, artists say nothing.
It was those artists who moved me to my core.
The faint glow of Apple’s innovation still remains within me.
Not even last year’s widely criticized "failure"—the Apple Vision Pro—could extinguish it.
In fact, it shines even brighter than the iPhone.
Because beyond its cutting-edge electronic components, I can sense a concept, an ideology.
Unfortunately, I will never feel the same from Meta’s AR glasses or Tesla’s cars.
I have written at length, but here is the key article:
**Tim Cook Donates Over $1.5 Million to Trump’s Inauguration Ceremony**
🔗 [Gigazine Article](gigazine.net/news/20250104-apple-ceo-tim-cook-donates-1-m...)
At first glance, this might make it seem like Tim Cook, like other tech CEOs, has sold his soul. But that is not the case.
While Cook personally donated to Trump, Apple itself did not follow the same path as other companies.
Apple refused to bow to Trump.
If asked what Apple’s ideology truly is, I would answer this:
**Apple is a group of individuals who believe in themselves.**
Steve Jobs, watching from heaven, is probably chuckling at this overly serious text I wrote.
A company that does not pander to Trump—
That is Apple. :)
### January 15
After reading a heartwarming article.
8mm film of our honeymoon resurrected after decades.
youtu.be/zH-dG7bMeL4?si=yLF5_f1m-LhAVdPp
We found the 8mm film of our honeymoon for the first time in decades, and burned it onto a DVD.
On June 6, 1993, we got married, and headed straight to Nassau, Bahamas, via New York.
Our destination was the pink sand beach where the late Princess Diana went on her honeymoon.
If you're heading to the Bahamas, this might be a good reference.
The hotel we stayed at was the Ramada Hotel, which no longer exists.
My wife is showing us the hotel room.
But now you can see the beautiful scenery in real time.
When I played the DVD that arrived, it showed footage of our arrival in the Bahamas.
Please take a look if you'd like.
This time, we asked Fujifilm to make the DVD.
I'll post the link below.
From now on I will host "Lot No.402_".
The work of Leonardo da Vinci who was sleeping.
That is the number when it was put up for auction.
No sign was written on the work.
So this work couldn't conclude that it was his work.
However # as a result of various appraisals # it was exposed to the sun.
A work that no one notices. A work that speaks quietly without a title.
I will continue to strive to provide it to many people in various ways.
### **Synopsis**
Kei Kitami, a student preparing for university entrance exams, meets Kaori Kamimura, an event companion six years his senior, through social media.
Kaori has come to Tokyo with a dream—to befriend famous artists.
To achieve this, she needs the influence of Ryo Osawa, a well-known radio producer.
During a live radio broadcast, Osawa speaks directly to Kaori:
*"I have a wife and child. But still, I want to see you."*
Meanwhile, Rika Sanjo, Kei’s classmate who secretly harbors feelings for him, is closely watching Kaori’s every move...
---
Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.
youtu.be/3y-kGHO4GPo?si=vlQdX3yaQ-Jdd3Pp
1 トランプ相互関税弾頭炸裂 😅
  みんなが選んだんでしょ? どうにもならないなー 😅
2 イーロンマスクとスティーブ・ジョブズは180度、異なります😃
  自動運転はもう間近! と公言してから数年。いまだ達成できないテスラとアイフォンを完全に完成させてから発表したジョブズはまるで異なる。
3 トヨタの新型クラウンは、変化を恐れないアーティスト精神の結晶
  従来のセダンから大きく変化させたSUVに見るその心得。
4 資本主義の崩壊・インターネットがもたらした平等
  レアアースの追求・サブスクが破壊した音楽・映画のあり方は、資本主義そのもののに変化をもたらしている。
 (その最中だから揉めに揉めているところ😅)
5 子供の育て方・育った子に想うこと
  小言は決して言わない。萎縮させない。すべてを自発的に。
  お金の管理も自ら気づくように。
6 バイデンからトランプへ変わったように、人事は能力無関係😅
  ただし、僕は自分に費やした労力分は見返りをいただき、その分は未来へ貢献する😃
  日本のこれまでの写真家と同じ。知り合いに席を譲り合っているだけ😃
7 子供が大学を卒業したら死んでもいい😅 もちろん、仕事は速攻辞めます😃ニューヨークへちょっと行きたい😃
以上、ドライブしながら地味に語りました。
お時間が、どーしても有り余ってる方はどうぞ 😃
タイトル
“” A.I.  アップルのアイデンティティについて””
www.flickr.com/photos/stealaway/54271473379/in/dateposted...
マークザッカーバーグ氏の批判に、アップルは耳を傾けるだろうか。
僕にはそう思えない。アップルヴィジョンプロに夢を見せられた僕には。
メタのマークザッカーバーグ氏は、有名なポッドキャストに出演し、アップルはアイフォン以来革新的な製品を発売せず、売り上げも落ちていると批判したようだ。
アップル発祥のポッドキャストに現れ、アップルを批判すると言うのは軽いジョークに思えるが、真剣に訴えたんだろうと僕は思う。
なぜなら、今の彼はARグラスという武器を手にしているからだ。
おそらく、さまざまな関係機関や優秀なスタッフが彼を支え、それなりの目標を達成したんだろうが、パワーブック540cから使い続けてきた僕のような古いアップルファンからしてみれば、まだ物作りのアイデンティを彼からはまったく感じない。
これは他の、現在世界を制覇しているIT企業らも含む。
メタ、アマゾン、テスラ。マイクロソフト。グーグル。
社名が並ぶだけで、このテキストを読まれている方は名前と顔をすでに浮かべているはずだ。
僕は以前、スティーブ・ジョブズはアーティストではないと書いた。
彼は、現世界に散らばったイメージを紡ぎ合わせ、それを膨らます。そして未来へリンクさせる。それが得意だっただけだ。
実際に創作していたのはジョナサンアイブだ。少数ながらも僕のような意見を持っている方もいるだろう。
しかし、先述したIT関連の面々が、トランプ氏に再び権力が戻るとなった途端に会社の方針を覆す様子を見ていると、僕は一言、どうしても意見したいのだ。
彼らが作ったARグラスや車などには、肝心な観念が欠けている。思想という重い言葉や、軽めのアイデンティティと言い換えてもいい。
確かに、ティムクック氏やアップルの現在のスタッフらは、発売前の商品に関して口を滑らせることが多くなった。
僕は、以前から書いているように音楽が大好きだ。
外界を断ち、アーティストらがスタジオにこもって、怒りや憎しみ、喜びや悲しみを一心不乱になって一音に吹き込む。何かを託すと言ってもいい。
そして、完成したアルバムを発表し、どんな思いを込めて制作したのかを語る。(僕が好きなプリンスはほとんど語らなかったので、完成された作品を理解する必要があった)
アルバムが完成し、発表するまで、彼らはひとことも語らない。
僕の胸を震わせたのは、そんなアーティストらだった。
僕の中に淡く灯っているアップルの革新性は、いまでも消えていない。
それは昨年、大失敗だと批判されたアップルヴィジョンプロでさえも消すことはできない。むしろ、アイフォン以上の強烈な光を放っている。
ただの斬新な電化製品ではなく、細かな電気部品の向こうに観念や思想を感じるからだ。
残念ながら、メタのARグラスやテスラの車に、僕がその観念や思想を感じることは今後もないだろう。
長々と書いてきたが、結論は以下の記事だ。
1.5億円超をAppleのティム・クックCEOがトランプの大統領就任式に寄付
gigazine.net/news/20250104-apple-ceo-tim-cook-donates-1-m...
一読すると、ティムクック氏も他のIT会社同様、魂を売ったのかと思われるがそうではない。
ティムクック氏は個人的にトランプ氏へ献金をするが、アップル社だけは他社と同じようには献金していない。
アップルは、トランプ氏になびかなかったのだ。
アップル社の観念や思想とは、具体的に何かと訊かれたら、僕はこう答える。
アップルとは、自分自身を信じる人間が集まっているグループだ。
たぶん、天国のスティーブ・ジョブズは、僕がクソ真面目に書いたテキストを、鼻で笑っていることだろう。
トランプ氏に媚びない会社。
それがAppleさ。:)
1月15日
嬉しい記事を読んだ後で。
新婚旅行の8mmフィルムが数十年ぶりに出てきて、DVDに焼きました。
1993年6月6日、僕らは結婚し、そのままニューヨークを経由して、バハマのナッソーへ向かいました。
目的地は、亡くなられたダイアナ妃が新婚旅行へ向かったピンクサンドビーチです。
もしもこれからバハマへ向かうならば、参考に見てもよいかもしれません。
泊まったホテルは、今はもうないラマダホテル。
妻がホテルの部屋を紹介しています。
でも、今はリアルタイムで美しい景色が見られますね。
届いたDVDを再生したら、バハマに到着したところからの映像でした。
もしもよかったら見てください。
今後、僕は、” Lot No.402_ ”を主催します。
このロットナンバーは、眠っていたレオナルドダヴィンチの作品がオークションにかけらた際に付されたものです。
作品にはサインなどがいっさい記されていなかったため、彼の作品だと断定できませんでした。
しかし、様々な鑑定の結果、陽の光を浴びました。
誰にも気づかれない作品。肩書がなくとも静かに語りかける作品。
僕はこれから様々な形で、多くの皆様に提供できるよう努めてゆきます。
 あらすじ
 大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
 上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
 そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
 大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
 「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
 ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
 ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
 もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
 二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
 再生だ。
 明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
 それが再生の意味だ。
” Lot No.402_ ” に関するお知らせ。
今後、僕は、” Lot No.402_ ”を主催します。
このロットナンバーは、眠っていたレオナルドダヴィンチの作品がオークションにかけらた際に付されたものです。
作品にはサインなどがいっさい記されていなかったため、彼の作品だと断定できませんでした。
しかし、様々な鑑定の結果、陽の光を浴びました。
誰にも気づかれない作品。肩書がなくとも静かに語りかける作品。
僕はこれから様々な形で、多くの皆様に提供できるよう努めてゆきます。
NF - Remember This
Yeah, they say when we grow up
You'll understand when you're older
Guess I'm still a kid, I don't know it
If I'll ever let go of this (yeah)
Say goodbye to the old me
We ain't friends anymore, you don't know me (real music)
I know I could die any moment
If I do just remember this
Yeah, handouts create lazy people I'm not impressed with
You want something in life, then why don't you go and get it?
Actions speak louder than words do, it's pretty quiet, isn't it?
Look at the world we live in, defined by comment sections
Surround yourself with people that challenge how you think
Not people that nod their head and act like they agree
Those people will cut you open just to watch you bleed
Always be yourself, not the person that you pretend to be, no!
These people gon' tell you that you will never make it
Then when you do, they gon' say they knew you were goin' places
That's just how it works, next thing you know you'll be overrated
Hearing people say they miss the "old you, " it's crazy, ain't it?
And perfect people don't exist, so don't pretend to be one
I don't need pats on the back from people for my achievements
When I die I wanna know that I lived for a reason
Anyone can take your life, but not what you believe in, no
Yeah, they say when we grow up
You'll understand when you're older
Guess I'm still a kid, I don't know it
If I'll ever let go of this
Say goodbye to the old me
We ain't friends anymore, you don't know me
I know I could die any moment
If I do just remember this
Yeah, don't take opinions from people that won't listen to yours
If money's where you find happiness, you'll always be poor
If you don't like the job you have, then what do you do it for?
The cure to pain isn't something you buy at liquor stores, nah
The real you is not defined by the size of your office
The real you is who you are when ain't nobody watchin'
You spend your whole life worried about what's in your wallet
For what? That money won't show up in your coffin, woo!
Yeah, anger's a liar, he ain't got no respect
I fell in love with my pain and I slept with my regrets
Happiness saw it happen, maybe that's why she up and left
Joy called me a cheater, said she ain't coming back
I've always had a problem with relationships
But that's what happens when you see the world through a broken lens
Mistakes can make you grow, that doesn't mean you're friends
Who you are is up to you, don't leave it up to them, no
Yeah, they say when we grow up
You'll understand when you're older
Guess I'm still a kid, I don't know it
If I'll ever let go of this
Say goodbye to the old me
We ain't friends anymore, you don't know me
I know I could die any moment
If I do just remember this
Yeah, they say you got into music, you signed up to be hated
That's kinda weird cause I don't remember signing my name up
Coming from people that give advice but never take none
I like my privacy, but, lately, I feel it's invaded
I heard that life's too short, don't let it pass you by
We waste a lot of time crying over wasted time
It's not about what people think, it's how you feel inside
My biggest failures in life are knowing I never tried, woo!
I look at the world from a different angle
People change, even Satan used to be an angel
Think twice before you're bitin' on the hand that made you
Don't believe what you believe just 'cause that's how they raised you
Think your own thoughts, don't let them do it for you
Say you want a drink, don't wait for people to pour it on you
Cut out the lies, stay close to the people you know are loyal
Grab your own glass and fill it, don't let your fear destroy you, woo!
Explored # 11! Hello!!
-Aurora Greenway
Beauuutiful quote!
It makes me so happy :)
Also... I was listening to this while reading that quote so it made it better i think :S
I was actually watching Master & Margarita like a week ago and that piece was in it so i looked it up (because it's very famous and nice)
I actually really like this photo :O
I love the weekend because it lets me actually plan and photo and take my time with it.
That was not the case with this photo, but i tried many different poses and stuff with that dress on.
How my face is focused so well is impossible to say because i literally just put my hand where i thought my face would be to focus the camera and miraculously it turned out well :)
Anyways!
I hope you have a good saturday :) I'm hungry so I'm going to go grab something to eat :)
Enjoy the photo
